Interesting Facts

The Air Jordan 13 was originally released in 1997; the silhouette dropped in seven colorways, five high-tops and two lows. Michael Jordan debuted this sneaker when he played for the Chicago Bulls in 1997. For the regular season, he wore the White/Black and White/Red for Home and Away, and introduced a Black/White rendition for the 1998 NBA All-Star Game. He would later wear that colorway during the 1998 NBA Playoffs, rotating them with the Black/Red colorway. The Air Jordan 13 was designed by Tinker Hatfield, who used the black panther as the inspiration behind the design. Just two years prior to the Air Jordan 13's creation, Michael Jordan earned the nickname ‘Black Cat.' This coincidental element truly brought the shoe together as a staple in the Jordan franchise.
